An update from Brown Owl! “We have now been running for two years and 17 girls have enjoyed a full programme this term. On Sunday, 5th June, our Brownie flag was dedicated, a very special occasion. Our most exciting event was our Sleepover held in the Hall where 14 of us had a fun evening; everyone ready for bed and as we sat singing – no electricity! So, at 10.30 pm we had to decamp to the Deanery. The lounge and spare bedroom were cleared of furniture and sleeping bags and airbeds were lined up. Hot chocolate was served around 11.30 pm and we finished our singsong in the middle of the lounge. Sleep seemed to evade many until the early hours of the morning but it was a sleepover not to be forgotten. As we now have 7 Brownies ready to become Guides we will be starting a Guide Company in September.” (To all former members of the Guide and Scout Movement the above will bring back many happy memories; it’s so good to know that this World Wide Movement is still active in the Diocese – Ed.) |
