The Chairman's Report

Once again it has been rather a sad year with several members experiencing serious illnesses and there were also the deaths of several members.

Our Spring Reunion at Pilgrim Hall was a resounding success and this year it was nice to welcome several newcomers to join the old hands. The talks and bible study were as stimulating as ever, and we had the additional surprise of an impromptu sing-a-long led by Ian Young on piano. Thanks again to Mary Banfield for her organisation and to Michael and Maggie Lee for their hospitality.

Our membership numbers are in a good state. Our finances are basically sound and once again we have been able to support Bishop Clive’s Discretionary Fund. However, for the coming year we appear not to be receiving as much in donations, over and above subscriptions, as we used to. This combined with a postal increase coming and increases in printing rates may make it necessary for a small increase to be made in subscriptions for the year 2006/7

I would like to thank everyone at All Hallows for their continuing assistance and hospitality, particularly the ladies of this church for the superb buffet they lay on for us each year which I am sure you will agree is worth the small contribution we now make towards it. Thanks to the Committee for all the work they do and to all of you for coming so regularly!
