EDITORIAL
Bishop Michael has been welcomed to the Diocese of Cyprus and the Gulf at an Enthronement service in each of the Cathedrals, St Paul’s, Nicosia and St Christopher’s, Bahrain. Both services were joyful and colourful occasions. He, and his wife Julia, have managed to visit most of the chaplaincies in both Cyprus and the Gulf.

It is some time since we said farewell to Bishop Clive and Archdeacon Ian Young but I’m sure that our readers will appreciate the photographs of Bishop Clive receiving his CMG award from HRH Prince Charles and Archdeacon Ian, with his sister Sandra outside Buckingham Palace, having received his MBE award.

Life in the Chaplaincies continues to be vibrant. Congregations and church buildings throughout the Diocese seem to be growing constantly. As we read, in the following pages, of some of the “happenings” taking place we continue to keep all in the Diocese in our prayers, especially as we use the Diocesan Prayer Diary.

It was hard to tell his age. He was probably no more than fifty but looked seventy five.
