The Church in Ayia Napa

The Ayia Napa Family continues to worship at the Scandinavian church during the winter months and at the Ayia Napa Monastery during the summer months. The open-air services attract visitors each Sunday, many of them tourists of all nationalities.

The Sunday bus service that enabled many to attend church was discontinued in November and replaced by a group of volunteers who regularly pick up and drop off. Anyone who has a problem getting to church on a Sunday can arrange a lift through a central point of contact.

The "Christianity Explored" course has proved highly successful and has attracted many non-members, giving them an insight into who Jesus is and what it means to follow Him. During the week a small number of people meet for Prayer Hour in addition to the use of a prayer chain. Midweek fellowship can be found at the coffee mornings and home groups. A Saturday home group caters for the needs of the guest workers who are often not allowed time off on Sundays to attend church.
