Major General (Retired) Gerald Green, CBE


Gerald came to Bahrain in 1956 after a distinguished career in the Durham Light Infantry. His first job in Bahrain was to establish the Military Wing of Public Security. In 1963, he became Private Secretary to HH the Amir Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa. In 1999, he was appointed Counsellor to HH the Amir . In 2001, he was promoted to Major General (Retired).

Because of the many roles he played in his life Gerald was awarded various commendations, awards and medals; he also played a prominent role in St Christopher's Cathedral over many years and was appointed Warden Emeritus.

Gerald died peacefully in Awali hospital on 10th March aged 91.
