In the past year we have
been glad to support Bishop Clive's Appeal for St George's, Baghdad, and
the people there have continually been in our prayers. It was marvellous
to have Bishop Clive and Jane to talk to our Diocesan Mothers' Union,
who have established a link with the MU in Baghdad. We have, as ever, been able to assist with locum priests during the past year and look forward to assisting in 2007. We have been pleased to hear about the increase in the number of your Ordinands and Readers and we are hoping that Exeter can play a part in supporting their vocations, perhaps by placements in our Diocese for a spell. As a member of our Council of Mission and Unity I am involved in bringing together the prayer needs of all our Companions - Thika, Cyprus and the Gulf and Exeter. Last year we observed November as a month of prayer in celebration for our Companionships and we hope to develop this further. The end of 2006 saw the completion of tenure of the small group who try to steer our Companionship in Exeter. We try to get new blood on board every triennium and this applies now. I have therefore decided to hand over this portfolio Nigel Speller, Chairman |
