The Chaplaincy in Qatar

Archdeacon Ian
After twenty years as Chaplain in Qatar, Archdeacon Ian Young feels called by God to move to pastures new. After a sabbatical he hopes to take up a new ministry in his native Scotland.  During his twenty-two years in the diocese he has been a part-time teacher, Director of Ordinands and Training, Gulf Liaison Officer for the Middle East Council of Churches, Archdeacon in Cyprus and the Gulf and Secretary of the Province of Jerusalem and the Middle East.  Ian is the longest serving priest in the history of the diocese to date and leaves lively and growing congregations in Qatar.

Anglican Centre Project
Members of the Doha congregation "broke ground" in a moving ceremony at the site of the new church centre. With building costs rising 30% each year in Qatar the building programme will be phased to suit the finances available. Roger Molyneux, from London, has replaced the late Tom Hornsby as architect and is working closely with the local building team in Qatar.
