St. Mark's, Famagusta

"The youngest Chaplaincy in the Diocese of Cyprus and the Gulf,
worshipping in the oldest Church Building." Bishop Clive

With a large University in Famagusta many of the students find their way to the old Assyrian church where they receive a warm welcome. The Sunday evening congregation often numbers 120 or more, made up mainly of overseas students. This is usually a lively service led by a joyful Nigerian choir. There is a gradual outreach to the many British people in the area and the typically Anglican morning service is beginning to show growing numbers. A group of ladies from Famagusta joined with St Andrew's, Kyrenia for this year's Women's World Day of Prayer.
