St. Andrew's, Kyrenia |
| Although St Andrew's church was
extended just a few years ago it is already too small at the major
Festivals. The regular congregation is growing and, with holiday
makers and "swallows" returning, Easter this year saw a congregation
of just over 200. So chairs, benches and the large sun umbrellas
filled the courtyard for the overflow. With several universities in the area many overseas students attend services at St Andrew's. An evening service has been introduced in the church hall and this is geared towards the students. Known as the Cyprus International Fellowship it is an Evangelical Fellowship and is growing rapidly. There are many nationalities and a large contingent of African students brings their own wonderful music. The sad news for the congregation at Kyrenia was that after just two years Tony and Irene Jeynes moved to Paphos. So once again St Andrew's is looking for a new chaplain. In the meantime the chaplaincy is being served by locums. |
