The Chaplaincy at Paphos

Preparing for the Flower Festival, Ayia Kyriaki Church, Paphos

In December the congregation of the church in Paphos said farewell to the Rev’d Marvin Bamforth after seven years of fruitful ministry. Marvin, and his wife Sue, will continue their ministry in Uganda. It had been noted in the last edition of the Olive Branch that the Rev’d David Sutton would take over from Marvin but this was not to be, and now the church in Paphos will be served by locum clergy until a new permanent Chaplain is appointed.

Among new developments this last year has been the formation of Prayer Groups. Chris Howsam and Ann Bailey have been welcomed into the Readers’ team.

Last year, the church in Paphos held a very successful Flower Festival that was visited by over 3,000 people.

The Ladies’ Knitting Group completed 26 blankets (910 squares) for the Virgin Mary Home in Chlorakas. A Winter gift that was much appreciated.
