| The past year
has seen important changes in our Diocese and in the Province.
We thank God for the faithful ministry of Bishop Mouneer Anis as the
President Bishop of the Episcopal Church in Jerusalem and the Middle
East, and as 'Locum Tenens' of this Diocese over the past months.
We pray for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon Bishop Suheil
Dawani in Jerusalem, and Bishop Andrew Pounds, the Suffragan Bishop
in Ethiopia and we praise God for our new Bishop Elect, that led by
the Spirit, he may truly be a 'good shepherd' that leads us into
pastures new in this Diocese. We praise God for the faithful ministry of Archdeacons Alan Hayday and Stephen Collis, and for the forbearance of their wives, Pam and Cath during the Episcopal Interregnum, during which they have had to share responsibility for the oversight of the Diocese with its heavy administrative load in addition to their normal past6oral duties as Deans of the Cathedrals in Nicosia and Bahrain. All praise and thanks to God, and the Good Shepherd, Jesus our Saviour, for the faithful ministry of the presbyters and deacons, and their wives, in our Chaplaincies, some of which are in lonely, sensitive and highly dangerous situations - we ask your prayers especially for Peter and Nancy Crooks in Aden, and for Andrew White in Iraq. May all who are called to ministry in this Diocese be true 'watchmen and stewards of the mysteries of God' and worthy dispensers of God's Word and Sacraments. |

As the watchmen look for the morning so we look for you, O Christ. Come with the dawning of the day and make yourself known to us in the breaking of the bread; for you are our God for ever and ever. |
