A Prayer by Bishop John Brown
O God our loving Father;
We raise our voices and our hearts to you
from the lands of Cyprus and the Arabian Peninsula;
We thank you and praise you
for the richness of your creation;
For bread and fruits, for oil and wine
for the natural resources of the earth
beneath the desert places.
Lord, help us to use all your good gifts wisely,
to cease from killing and maiming one another
and from polluting your good ground.
As we walk in the lands of our father Abraham
and of St Barnabas the Apostle;
as we follow the trails of the holy saints and martyrs
and of the prophet Muhammad;
help us to learn to live at peace with you,
with one another; and with ourselves
that our hearts may rest in you.
Amen.
