The Twentieth Sunday after Trinity

Thursday:  Stephen the Sabite of Mar Saba

We praise God for the many blessings that have been poured out upon us in this Chaplaincy, for the steady growth of our Churches, and for the very real deepening of the spiritual life of many people.

We praise God for the encouraging growth of our monthly 'Young Church Group', we pray that the young families that come regularly may be fed and encouraged to grow with their children into the life of discipleship and membership of the Church.

We praise God for the recent 'Alpha' course, for those who have led it and provided for it, and pray that those who have attended it may be blessed and seek to grow further in the knowledge and love of the Lord Jesus Christ.

We praise God for our house and prayer groups and their leaders, that this area of our Church life may be a source of rich blessing to those involved, and a way of deepening discipleship, especially through the work and teaching that is focused in the 'Celebration'group, led by the Reverend Geoff Hill.  We pray for discernment in finding a new home for the St. Stephen's congregation, and for the Holy Spirit to guide us in the way forward with mission and evangelism.

We praise God for the diversity and richness of worship in our Churches; Ayia Kyriaki, St. Luke's and St. Stephen's, for all who take part in the leading of worship and for the Ministry Team of Presbyters and Lay Readers, under the diversity of the Anglican umbrella, Christians from many different backgrounds are welcomed and grow together in the exploration of what it means to be a follower of Jesus, refreshed and renewed by Word and Sacrament to witness to the communities in which we are placed.

We praise God for our good and growing relationships with the Holy Orthodox Church of Cyprus, the Latin Catholic Church in Cyprus, with whom we share Ayia Kyriaki Church, and much other pastoral work together, and for other Christian groups.  We pray for Bishop George of Paphos and Fr. John Sansour, the Latin Priest.

At the end of another busy Wedding Ministry, we thank God for the ministry of outreach to so many people, for the Reverend David Hastings, our Wedding Locum Priest and all involved in the hard work that it entails.

We thank God for all who work to make sure the wheels of this wonderful, but diverse, complex and busy Chaplaincy are well oiled and efficient, our Administrator Helen, Director of Music, Malcolm the Churchwardens, Sacristans, Eucharistic Ministers, Church Councillors, Choirs and Musicians, Treasurers, Sidesmen, members of the various outreach and pastoral teams, indeed the whole Body of Christ in this place in its work of mission and outreach.
