RETREATS

2nd September 2007
The Thirteenth Sunday after Trinity

Saturday:
The Birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary

It has been an encouraging time seeing the retreat work develop.  The Katafiyio Retreat House has been used by church groups, alpha groups, and individuals wanting to take time out in a peaceful environment to listen to God.  Some of these retreats have been led by Maggie and Judy and others have been self-led.  Once a month open Quiet Days are now taking place at the house and a successful two-day workshop on 'Personality' was held there.  Retreats for larger groups have been held in other venues on the island and over the summer St. George's Church, Troodos, has hosted 'Space for God' days.

It has been exciting to receive invitations to lead retreats outside of Cyprus and see folk in the Gulf enjoying the e4xperience of quiet prayer.  Maggie will be travelling to Egypt in October to lead retreats for different groups.

Give thanks for the number of people who have been evidently blessed by their participation on retreats.  Give thanks also for the donations that have been received to enable this ministry to commence.  Pray for an increase in the number of those using Katafiyio in order that it can continue as a financially viable concern.
Loving God, look with mercy on your servants who seek in solitude and silence refreshment of sould and strengthening for service; grant them your abundant blessing in the peace of Christ our Lord.

O God, make us children of quietness and heirs of peace.
Clement of Rome, 1st Century
