The Katafiyio Retreat House, is run by the Anglican Diocese of Cyprus and the Gulf. It aims to resource Christians to live in the busy world by providing them with a quiet, restful place, where they can listen to God The Katafiyio Retreat House is in the small village of Kapedes, 30 km south of Nicosia, on the edge of Machairas Forest. It is ideally situated to provide a place of relaxation for anyone, from any denomination, to take timeout for rest, quiet reflection and prayer. Individuals and small groups (up to 20 people) are welcome for retreats and quiet days

This old style traditional house has been renovated and furnished, bringing out its true Cypriot character. It has a private courtyard at the front. The surrounding countryside provides good walking opportunities.

There are two sitting rooms, two bedrooms with double beds, a study with sofa-bed, and shared bathroom.  It is a self-catering house.
There is a well-stocked supermarket in the village and two restaurants nearby.  Hospitality for children cannot be provided.

The study is home to a small library where, as well as books and CD’s, a variety of craft ideas and materials can be found

What is on offer?

 

There is no permanent resident at Katafiyio.
The Retreat Facilitator in Nicosia welcomes requests to help organise retreats for individuals and groups.

The house offers:
Half or full days of quiet space for individuals who need a base and their own room
Half or full days of quiet space for groups of up to 20.
Structured quiet days (10 a.m. - 4 p.m.) Contact the Retreat Facilitator for more information
Individually guided retreats lasting 1-8days, meeting with a guide each day for up to one hour

Bookings for day use by individuals may only be made one month in advance.
 
Bedding and towels will be provided for those travelling from abroad. Those living in Cyprus are requested to bring their own bedding and towels. The kitchen is stocked with basic supplies Katafiyio is a rented property. It is being run on a tight budget and relies on donations to allow it to continue.
