Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem pays tribute to Anglican Communion

The Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, visited the Anglican Centre in Rome yesterday, paying tribute to the role of the Anglican Communion in building relations between the Christian churches in his region. Indeed, he said, the secretary of the Assembly of the Heads of the Churches in Jerusalem is usually an Anglican, helping to draw together the different denominations to build common understanding in complex situations.  

The Latin Patriarchy of Jerusalem covers the area of Israel, the Palestinian territories, Jordan and Cyprus. The Anglican Centre serves as the permanent Anglican Communion presence in Rome. Its director, the Right Reverend Anthony Ball, is the Archbishop of Canterbury’s Personal Representative to the Holy See. (Click image below to watch video)
