Ayia Napa: concerts and ecumenism

Parish priest the Reverend George Vidiakin met Ayia Napa deputy mayor Antonis Christou today (31 October), to discuss ways the church and local authorities could cooperate for the benefit of the town and wider region.

Exploring ideas for future projects, Mr Christou offered his support, including the use of municipal theatre facilities for charity concerts.

Ayia Napa’s local authorities have a proven commitment to fostering an inclusive community, with a long history of cooperation with the Scandinavian church in the area. The meeting was an opportunity for Fr George to introduce himself as the new Anglican priest in the district.

“The deputy mayor is deeply committed to the spirit of Cypriot hospitality here in Ayia Napa,” said Fr George. “Our church is delighted to expand our partnership with the local community, and we look forward to continuing our work together.”
