Ayia Napa supports All4Aid refugee work

Christ Church Ayia Napa and the Scandinavian Church yesterday (13 February) hosted an inspiring talk on efforts to help refugees in Cyprus, presented by All4Aid head of operations Logan Erickson along with public health officer Jana Lee, who gave moving insights into her work with women in need.

All4Aid is particularly active at the Kofinou reception camp, where it runs a food bank, distributes clothing, and organises language classes and childcare, as well as creating welcoming spaces such as their community café. The Reverend George Vidiakin opened the evening with a reading from Deuteronomy 10:14,17-22, reminding those gathered of God’s heart for the stranger, the needy and the vulnerable.

The Scandinavian Club presented a donation to All4Aid, and both church communities contributed food, clothing, school supplies and other essential items for distribution to those in need.

“It was such a blessing to join the group and share about the work we’re doing at All4Aid,” said Logan. “The support and encouragement we received was evidence of a strong heart to help the asylum-seeking community in Cyprus. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks for the items given and the hospitality that was shown to us.”

“God calls us not to turn away from those in need but to extend His love in tangible ways,” said Fr George. “Just as He provides for the fatherless, the widow, and the foreigner, so we are invited to be His hands and feet in the world. Compassion is not an option; it is our calling.”
