Bishop Sean attended the annual Battle of Britain service at Westminster Abbey in London today, as guest of the Venerable Dr (Air Vice-Marshal) Giles Legood who, as Chaplain-in-Chief to the Royal Air Force, preached at the service.
The Diocese of Cyprus and the Gulf celebrates its links to the RAF, particularly in this Golden Jubilee year: the Air Vice-Marshal holds the same position once held by our first Diocesan bishop, the Right Reverend Leonard Ashton, and many former priests of the Diocese previously served as RAF padres.
