Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
On behalf of the Diocesan office I would like to offer our warmest Christmas greetings, our prayers for your many services at this time, and our gratitude for your selfless work for the Lord in often challenging situations.
The story of Christmas is at heart one of love and presence—God’s love for this world sent him into it to live as one of us in Jesus Christ. Christ is the image of the invisible God, the Word made flesh. His presence revealed the Good News of God’s unconditional love, his forgiveness of sin, and his triumph over evil and death.
Each of us, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and sustained by prayer, scripture and sacrament, bears the light and likeness of Christ where we are present in the world. May our celebration of Christ’s incarnation and birth rekindle the flame of his love in us all, and bring the light and hope of that love to those around us.
A very blessed Christmas to each one of you!
