We are sad to record the death of Canon Anthony Stidolph, who joined the Diocese of Cyprus and the Gulf in 2016 and recently retired in Cyprus after his ministry as associate priest of Paphos.
Following Fr Anthony’s ordination in 1980, he served in parishes in Hove and Brighton in the Diocese of Chichester. Later, from 2005 to 2010, he was to return to that diocese as parish priest of Worth. But he was best known as a distinguished school chaplain: of Cheltenham College, Wellington College, and Radley College in England; of Peterhouse in Zimbabwe; and of Llandovery College in Wales. His liturgical and musical skills, not least as an organist, were much appreciated.
The funeral will be held at the church of Ayia Kyriaki, Paphos, on Saturday 5 June at 1330. Archbishop Michael will also be presiding at a Requiem Mass to be arranged at a later date.
May he rest in peace and rise in glory.
