Christ Church Jebel Ali on Sunday held a joyful, spirit-filled celebration of Africa Day—an annual commemoration of the founding of the Organisation of African Unity in 1963.
“The vibrant colours, powerful worship and warm fellowship reminded us of the beauty and richness of our diverse African heritage,” Manisha Cornelius writes from CCJA. “From traditional attire to uplifting music and dance, the church came alive in praise.”
A special video message from Bishop Sean offered words of encouragement, unity and hope for the African continent and all its people—ending with a prayer written by the anti-apartheid activist Fr Trevor Huddleston.
“A heartfelt thank you to organiser Daniella Melk, and everyone who participated,” said Manisha, “bringing scrumptious food and helping us honour the cultures and faith of Africa in such a meaningful way.”
