Exeter: congratulations and welcome, Bishop Mike

The Right Reverend Dr Mike Harrison was yesterday (2 November) enthroned as the 72nd Bishop of Exeter in a Cathedral service attended by over 100 clergy members, including Bishop Sean, representing Cyprus and the Gulf, and the Right Reverend Julius Wanyoike, Bishop of the Diocese of Thika in Kenya.

Bishop Mike’s sermon referred to the great challenges facing society and the Church today. But, he said, “The challenge of the Gospel is to live now as if joy is the last word, because it is.”

In a warm acknowledgement of the three-way link between the Dioceses of Exeter, Thika, and Cyprus and the Gulf, Bishop Sean and Bishop Julius were given the honour of blessing Bishop Mike at the end of the service.
