The new parish priest of St Andrew Kyrenia, licensed by Bishop Michael on Trinity Sunday, 4 June, is the Reverend Alec Mitchell.
Fr Alec, after a substantial and distinguished ministry in the Baptist tradition in Moss Side, Manchester, served as an Anglican priest for two and a half decades in Ashton under Lyne and finally at St Anne Haughton, under Bishop Michael when he was Bishop of Middleton. Fr Alec was also Racial Justice Officer for the Diocese of Manchester.
Alec and Linda have moved with enthusiasm into the refurbished Hermitage, which for years has been the priest’s house for St Andrew’s, and plan to open it once again for parish events and gatherings.
