An innovative ministry is underway at Christ Church Jebel Ali, providing practical support to those at critical junctures in their working life.

Led by the Reverend Jim Young and Manisha Cornelius, an HR Ministry team of CCJA professionals from diverse corporate backgrounds offers mentorship, skill-building and compassionate support to fellow members of the congregation on their career journey, particularly those seeking employment or navigating job transitions.

The team—comprising Asha Maben, Sarah Kashif, Sudashini Christopher, Leonard Van Doorn, Samer Najm and Sakhile, along with Manisha—delivers both practical and emotional support during what can often be a stressful and uncertain period.

While the ministry cannot itself provide employment opportunities, members can facilitate and equip individuals for the job-search process—helping to write CVs, develop LinkedIn profiles and prepare for interviews, as well as offering career coaching, and encouragement to those who find themselves unemployed.

The first CV-writing workshop, held on Sunday, was extremely well-received and widely appreciated for its practical and helpful content.

“We pray that this ministry continues to grow and becomes a sustained source of support, confidence and hope within the Christ Church community,” says Manisha.
