Jebel Ali shares the gift of water

At Christ Church, Jebel Ali we are blessed in so many ways as a parish, writes parish priest the Reverend Jim Young.

An unexpected gift received this week is just one such blessing. A local real estate company in Dubai is running a charity campaign this summer distributing bottled drinking water. When church caretaker Jit Bhattarai learned of the campaign, he investigated whether the campaign could make bottles available to the church for distribution free of charge.

And so we received a first delivery of 36 cartons—864 bottles of water, with at least as much again expected next month, to be distributed to those in need.

In the extreme heat of the summer months, water is the gift of life. These supplies will be shared by church members to those in need, given out freely and generously…all in the name of Jesus.

The theme for Sunday 24 August at Christ Church is “Give It Out, Live It Out.” Members and guests are invited to collect bottles from the back of the church.
