St Helena’s Anglican Church in Larnaca were delighted to welcome Bishop Sean for a service of celebration and confirmation on Sunday—celebrating the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Diocese, and the confirmation of Babar.
“The service offered Bishop Sean a chance to share something of the scope of the Diocese and its unique challenges,” said the Reverend Navina Thompson.
The occasion was a welcome opportunity for many in the congregation to gain a deeper appreciation of what it means to be part of a wider Diocesan family—to offer intercessions on its behalf and to join in singing the Golden Jubilee Hymn, written by Canon Chris Butt to mark the anniversary.
And that sense of family continued through the service and beyond, with visitors and regulars enjoying cake, refreshments and a treasured feeling of community.
