A group of vulnerable mothers and children in Nicosia this morning received a heart—and head—warming gift of cosy hats and colourful blankets, crocheted by members of Christ Church Jebel Ali.
Bishop Sean delivered the lovingly crafted gifts to Cheryl du Plessis of Room of Hope, which meets in St Paul’s Cathedral hall on Wednesday mornings to share breakfast and a time of fellowship, with Bible study, songs of worship and prayer, as well as games and music.
The blankets, and hats of all sizes—including tiny caps for babies—brought joy and heartfelt thanks for the kindness of the ladies of Christ Church.
“What began as a fun-and-fellowship crafts activity quickly sparked the idea of using our skills for an important cause embodying the Christian message,” said the Jebel Ali knitters.
For the women and children at Room of Hope in Nicosia, their gift was all the warmer for the love and care of that message.
