St Paul’s Cathedral, Nicosia was delighted to welcome Liam Gilleece Gonzalez by baptism into the family of the Church on Sunday—the Feast of Christ the King.

Liam is studying International Relations at the University of Nicosia, where a number of students who have made their home in St Paul’s are also studying. His formative years in a Church community have been in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, which is in full communion with the Episcopal Church, so it was a delight for Canon Chris Butt on his final Sunday as a locum priest to baptise him. Deacon Maria Evangelou was also very much involved in the baptism service, which took place in the Eucharist.

After the service, a small group went out for lunch to celebrate.
