Bishop Sean had the pleasure today of meeting in Erbil Niyaz Barzani—senior adviser on foreign affairs and diplomacy to KRG President Nechirvan Barzani.
On behalf of the President, Mr Barzani, a member of the Kurdish royal family, graciously welcomed the Anglican bishop on his first visit to Kurdistan, sharing with Bishop Sean an orientation of the Christian church and its history in Kurdistan. The bishop, who was joined by Fr Faiz and Sinan Kakarash, expressed his gratitude to Mr Barzani for his hospitality.
Earlier today, Bishop Sean met the UK Consul-General in Erbil, Andrew Bizley. They were honoured this afternoon to meet the Chaldean Archbishop of Erbil, the Most Reverend Bashar Matti Warda.
