Christian leaders from across Abu Dhabi gathered at St Joseph’s Cathedral on Monday, to pray for peace in the region and for the safety of those living in Abu Dhabi, where there have been daily missile and drone attacks.
The ecumenical service, hosted and led by Bishop Paulo, brought together representatives from the main families of the Christian faith in a spirit of unity and shared concern, with prayers offered from different Christian traditions alongside readings from Scripture and music.
Thanks was given for the protection provided by the UAE’s defence systems under the leadership of His Excellency Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates. Prayers were also offered for all those affected by the ongoing conflict.
