Mothers’ Union welcomes new members in Bahrain

The Diocesan Mothers’ Union this weekend welcomed new members from the Tamil congregation of St Christopher’s Cathedral in Bahrain, at a service led by the Reverend Franklin Isaac celebrating faith, fellowship and new beginnings. A service in English was led by Cathedral Dean the Very Reverend Richard Fermer, with Diocesan MU President the Reverend Christine Mbona invited to preach at both.

The Tamil congregation Mothers’ Union is led by Grace Franklin who, along with fellow MU member Giseli Severino, was delighted to welcome Christine and MU co-president Pauline Mitra.

“We were truly blessed to have them with us, their gracious presence adding warmth and wisdom to the occasion,” said Grace and Giseli.

It was also an opportunity for Union members to offer their heartfelt blessings to Mother Christine, who is to be ordained priest at St Paul Ahmadi in Kuwait on Friday (30 May).

“This was more than a gesture—it was a sacred passing of grace, a circle of prayer and encouragement surrounding one who is about to step into holy orders,” said Grace and Giseli.

On Saturday, MU leaders were invited to speak about the Mothers’ Union at a service held at Awali Church. A meeting of MU executive members was also held.

“By the gentle grace of God, our Mothers’ Union Enrolment Service unfolded beautifully, filled with joy, purpose and promise,” said Grace and Giseli.

“To our newly joined members—welcome to the heart of this sisterhood! May your journey ahead be rich in love, support and spiritual growth.

“To all who prayed, planned and poured their hearts into this event—thank you.”
