Archbishop of Canterbury the Most Reverend Sarah Mullally has appealed for an end to the destruction of war in the Gulf and wider Middle East.

“As we shout with joy that Christ is risen, let us pray and call with renewed urgency for an end to the violence,” she said in her Easter Day sermon at Canterbury Cathedral.

“May all people of the region receive the peace, justice and freedom they long for.”
