Christ Church Ayia Napa marked the beginning of Triduum in a prayerful afternoon gathering at a local botanical gardens on Maundy Thursday.
Members of the congregation joined first in an informal celebration of the Eucharist around a shared table, remembering the institution of the Lord’s Supper in an echo of the intimacy of the Upper Room.
A prayer walk through the park followed, focusing on the events that followed the Last Supper: Jesus’s arrest, his trial and his journey towards Calvary. At each stage, Bible readings and short reflections invited all to enter deeply into the Passion of the Lord. The garden setting offered a powerful resonance with Gethsemane. Trees, open space and the gradual movement from place to place helped to shape an atmosphere of watchfulness and prayer.
